Canberra Light Rail Stage 2A will connect Stage 1 in the Central Business District to Commonwealth Park, over a distance of 1.7 km. The line will assist in creating a north to south mass transit spine for the city by connecting its major education, entertainment, healthcare and government hubs.
Since 2021, D&N has been working closely with key stakeholders including John Holland, and AECOM to provide quality geotechnical information for the alignment. Works have comprised 24 hand auger boreholes, 55 boreholes and 51 pavement cores in complex urban and environmentally sensitive environment.
D&N were able to supply and operated their own in-house drilling capabilities, and their experience geotechnical site engineers provided detailed, accurate data to the project designers to applicable Australia Standards. All investigations were completed on time and on budget to allow design to continue unhindered.
