As part of the existing Amrun Bauxite extraction and processing site, a warehouse development with associated pavement and hardstand was proposed by the principal.
D&N were engaged to carry out a geotechnical investigation across the site footprint, to identify possible geotechnical opportunities and constraints.
The site is located in regional far north Queensland, with fieldwork being carried out during the wet season. Site conditions were therefore challenging and required careful planning to manage site and personnel safety.
