Principal Environmental Scientist (E7E) – BNE & SYD

Our Brisbane and Sydney teams are seeking principal level environmental scientists/engineers, who have at least 10 years’ consulting experience in the geoscience and remediation services sector. The Principal Environmental Scientist/Engineer will work with the wider D&N environment team to support our growing environmental service delivery in Queensland.

The responsibilities of the position are to:

• Engage with clients and industry to Identify, transform and deliver a diverse range of opportunities.
• Prepare innovative and accurate fee proposals that respond to our client’s needs.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver a variety of (small to large scale) investigation and assessment reports across the land contamination and in-ground risks sector.
• Coordinate and manage environmental support and monitoring projects.
• Play your part within the wider D&N team across Australia by bringing a proficient contemporary understanding of contaminated land investigation requirements to the organisation.
• Manage and mentor junior scientists and engineers, providing technical oversight and guidance.
• Uphold D&N’s project administration and commercial standards in accordance with our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental processes.

About You

The successful applicant will:

• Degree qualified in Earth Science, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering.
• Have a minimum of 10 years’ professional consulting experience as an environmental scientist/engineer with a commitment to continuing professional development.
• Demonstrable experience in delivering investigation, monitoring and remediation projects in accordance with contemporary nationally and state recognised guidance.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess a robust and demonstrable technical understanding of field sampling/monitoring, measurement and analytical methods.
• Be proficient in a range of environmental data management software packages such as Esdat (Equis), Gint, Surfer, AQTSOLV etc.
• Possess Australian work rights and valid driver’s license.
