About the Role

As the Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the sustainability of our Canberra office. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our engineering and environmental teams, ensuring their efficient functioning and alignment with organisational objectives. You will actively participate in projects, leveraging your technical expertise to contribute meaningfully to our endeavors. This multifaceted role requires a strategic thinker who can balance leadership, management, and hands-on involvement to drive excellence across all aspects of branch operations, while also monitoring financial targets and branch performance to ensure sustained growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Balance your time between branch management and active project participation.
  • Mentor and manage all branch staff.
  • Taking the lead on local business development and growth opportunities.
  • Implement company policies and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Identify and manage health, safety, and environmental hazards associated with our work.
  • Collaborating with our business development manager to forecast future work.
  • Lead local business development initiatives, tenders, and proposals.
  • Manage branch resources for sustainable growth.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Set and monitor branch financial targets.
  • Lead quarterly branch performance reviews with our shared services team and Director.

About You:

We’re seeking an individual who can embody the essence of leadership, management, organisation and team collaboration.

  • Possess qualifications in earth sciences, civil engineering, or a related field, providing the technical expertise necessary for effective project management.
  • Is a natural leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Demonstrates strong managerial skills, effectively delegating tasks, providing guidance, and fostering professional development and mentoring within the team.
  • Is highly organised and capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills, ensuring clear and timely communication with colleagues, management, and stakeholders, thus facilitating seamless collaboration and alignment across all levels of the organisation
